e-PRO Grad Featured in REALTOR® Magazine;
“30 Under 30” Article Profiles Up And Comers

(San Diego, CA June 21, 2005) – e-PRO Christine Kim – a 29-year-old broker-associate with Alain Pinel, REALTORS®, in Saratoga, CA – is one of 30 successful REALTORS under 30 years of age who are featured in the June 2005 issue of REALTOR Magazine.

The “30 Under 30” (article) features real estate professionals who are making their mark on the industry. The magazine’s editors pored over more than 500 applications, selecting candidates based on their passion for the business, their professional achievements, and their innovative business techniques.

For Kim, real estate is a family affair. Kim’s mother had been in real estate just six months when she was in a near-fatal car accident on her way to prepare for an open house. It was 1993; the elder Kim survived but is severely brain-impaired. Almost 10 years later, Christine decided to take up the career her mother had tragically left behind.

Her father wasn’t thrilled about the Northwestern graduate’s decision to jump from a high-paying job with Internet networking giant Cisco Systems for the unknown income of a real estate career. But her determination to fulfill her mother’s dream of real estate success has paid off—with $11.7 million in sales volume in 2004 with this year expected to be much better. “Dad couldn’t be prouder,” she said.

Coming from Cisco Systems and having a marketing and communications background, Kim knew the value of utilizing technology. “Working at Cisco taught me a lot about technology, but I was looking for more specific information about using technology as part of my real estate business,” she said. “When I heard about e-PRO, it sounded like just what I needed.”

Kim specializes in listing and selling single family homes, townhouses and condominiums throughout the Bay Area. She has recently been recognized by San Jose Magazine as a real estate "Power Player" signifying that she is one of the Top 5% of REALTORS serving Santa Clara County.

”The e-PRO course really taught me how to integrate technology into my real estate business plan,” she said. “When you get toward the end of the course and see how it all ties together you really get the big picture of how to incorporate all of the little things into your marketing efforts. The course shows you how to work smarter.”

Kim was born and raised in Portland, OR. She obtained her Bachelors in Communication Studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Upon graduation in 1998, she moved to the Bay Area. Prior to entering into the real estate industry, Christine held marketing positions at worldwide companies including MTV, Warner Brothers, Foote, Cone & Belding and Cisco Systems Inc.

”Becoming e-PRO certified is already making a difference,” Kim said. “This year I came in with a plan in place. Production is up and so are my sales numbers. I can attribute a lot of that to the changes I’ve made from what I learned in the course. I am much more pro-active instead of being reactive.”

In her spare time, Christine serves as the President for the Silicon Valley Women of Wealth Investment Club, Membership Chair for the Bay Area Northwestern University Alumnae Organization. She is also President of the Korean American Professional Society. Christine's main focus is to create a professional networking environment for Korean Americans.

Kim enjoys skiing in Tahoe and spending time with friends and family. She is also a big dog lover and is very involved in her “dog group.” In fact, her first sale came from a person in the neighborhood that also had a love for dogs.

“I really love selling real estate,” Kim said. “Every time I close a deal, I think of my mom and that I’m doing this for her because it’s something she always wanted to do.”
